Prolouge

December 5, 1965-December 20, 1956

On December 1, 1965 Rosa Parks and three other African Americans were asked to give up there seats on a public bus for whites. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat. When Parks refused to give up her seat, she was arrested.

Who Participated in the bus boycott

It wasn't just Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks.  There were 42,000 African Americans . There was the MIA who started the bus boycott.  There were protaganists and antagonists.  James Blake was  the bus driver.  He insulted many African americans so I believe he was a reason of the bus boycott.

Leading to the boycott

The first plans for this boycott was made by the Women's Political Council as a one day boycott. This council was led by JoAnn Robinson. The conditions leading to this bus boycott: city ordinance required blacks had to sit in there designated seats on buses. Violent treatments by the white bus drivers. When blacks protested they got arrested which caused hard feelings. This immediately led to the Montgomery Bus boycott. During the boycott, 70% stopped riding, most were African Americans.

The boycott

Whites believed if they could divide the African Americans, they would not want to keep protesting. When whites knew they could not solve the protesting, they turned to violence. The whites bombed Martin Luther King's house. This did not stop the protesting. The whites turned to law. They fined African Americans for breaking a law. This law was an old law that prohibited boycotts. The whites fined Martin Luther King Jr. 500 dollars plus 500 dollars in coart or serve 386 days in state penitentiary. Since blacks were relying on taxis to import them to work. Whites also tried to break that down. Some churches also purchased station wagons which they called " rolling churches". They arrested Martin Luther King Jr. for driving 30 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour store. Even though blacks kept had many chances to just qhit the boycott. They kept going until the Supreme Coart arrived. During that time MIA leaders tried to prepare blacks for intergration.

Conclusion

in conclusion. the Montgomery bus boycott was a big start to The Civil Rights Movement.

Our position on the state of Georgia flag

The Confederate Battle Flag should stay on our flag because it is our heritage. It says we were once confederates, but we aren't anymore. On my flag the Confederate Battle flag is all heritage like I said, but the United states flag is on the flag above, so that says we are apart of the Union.  Although the Confederates were bad, not all heritage is good heritage. The Confederate flag is a sign of hate to some, but to us it is the heritage of our state. Our version of the state flag symbolizes the heritage, the current status of Georgia, and the Dukes of Hazard, which is supposed to take place in Georgia. That is our position on the flag of Georgia

The flag of the state of Georgia was changed in 1956. The flag was changed to have the confederate Battle flag to spit in the Union's face about segregation. Georgia was angry because they were ending the segregation of schools. The Georgian were very angry about the desegregation, so they changed the Georgia State flag. Once again I say all heritage is not good heritage. But that is some of the heritage of the Confederate Battle flag.
