We dont think that the confederate battle flag should be on the Georgia flag. The battle flag represents the US as north and south seperate, without the battle flag included, the flag symbolizes Geargia as part of the US. The Georgia state flag was changed in 1956 when Atlanta atourny John Sammons Bell suggested a new "better" flag that included the battle flag. At the 1956 session of the Generl Assembly state senators Jefferson Lee Davis and Willis Hardin intraduced senate bill 98 to change the state flag. This was signed into law February 13, 1956, and became affective the following July.

On our flag the checkers represent the intigration of our state and how we are all equal, and red around the seal because we felt that that should be the Georgia state color if we had one.
