Georgia Flag
The confederate flag represents a sign of racism and heritage. The confederate flag is a sign of heritage because it is honoring our history and what has occured in the past. The confederate flag is a sign of racism because it insults the North and it is a symbol of how the South wanted to keep slavery. The flag was changed from stars and bars to the confederate flag, in 1956, because the state was looking for a symbol to represent our heritage and what happened in the past. The American Liberty on the flag represents that we are a part of the United States. There is thirteen stars because it is a symbol of Georgia being one of the thirteen colonies.
